What do Justin Bieber, New Moon, Lady Gaga, Gossip Girl, Iron Man and Glee have in common? They're all really popular ... and up for lots of Teen Choice Awards! On August 9, the awards will be handed out on Fox, with Iron Man 2 and Gossip Girl leading with six nominations apiece and New Moon and Glee each securing five. Other stars with multiple nods were Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Zoe Saldana, Kristen Bell, Steve Carell, Sam Worthington, Tina Fey, Rachel McAdams and many more.
Earlier this month we learned the bittersweet news that the Fox network was seriously considering ending the long running hit TV drama 24 (which, in all honesty, revolutionized the hour-long action drama on television) but at that time, no decision about ending the show was made. Since then, we heard a rumor that NBC was interested in picking up the show if Fox decided to end it but no other concrete information about that report has come to light (and, in fact, you’ll read that Kiefer Sutherland admits the NBC plan was never really a viable option).
Sad news to pass along for fans of the hit Fox TV series 24. According to Variety, Fox is very near announcing that this current season of the show will be its last. Part of me is really sad that one of my fave TV shows is coming to an end but, in all honesty, I think it’s about time. Season 8, airing right now, is THE WORST season of the show yet and I do feel that the show should end before things get any worse:“24’s” time is almost up. 20th Century Fox TV and Fox appear ready to end the long-running hit after this season, the show’s eighth.
Last Wednesday we got our first look at new 24 season 8 promo pics of Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica), Freddie Prinze, Jr. (husband of Sarah Michelle Gellar) and Anil Kapoor (Slumdog Millionaire) after getting our first look at the trailer for the new season last month. Today we get to check out a few more promo pics with a decidedly New York City theme:Now that CTU has opened an office in NYC (near the United Nations building, apparently), it works out to be the PERFECT time for 24 to move to the Big Apple.
Back in May we learned that Freddie Prinze, Jr. (who just became a new dad to baby girl Charlotte Grace with wifey and Buffyverse alum Sarah Michelle Gellar) would be joining the cast of 24 for their upcoming 8th season and in June we learned that Battlestar Gallatica album Katee Sackhoff would also be joining the cast. Last month we got our first look at a new trailer promoting season 8 of 24 which featured both FPJ and Katee along with another new castmember, Anil Kapoor (who starred as the douchey gameshow host in Slumdog Millionaire).

Lots of casting news, yet again. James Franco keeps rolling along, as does Liam Neeson. Little Bryce Dallas Howard might be teaming up with her papa, while a bunch of grizzled old thespians are teaming up to teach architecture.Move over, street urchins. James Franco is the new king of New York. I mean, he just keeps getting work here. He's most recently been cast in a film by the head of NYU's graduate directing program, Jay Anania. He'll star as an Orpheus or Dante type figure who journeys into the heart of a crime syndicate to rescue his beloved.
Amazing news for fans of both Battlestar Galactica and 24 … Michael Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly is reporting exclusively that BG’s Katee Sackhoff has just signed a deal to join the cast of 24! According to Ausiello, Sackhoff’s character will be going head-to-head with Mary Lynn Rajkub’s Chloe O’Brien in the newly revamped NYC office of the show’s Counter Terrorist Unit. Um … OM-Frakking-G!!!Suddenly, I find myself counting the minutes until 24’s new season. Perhaps this is why: Katee Sackhoff is joining the cast!
