She talks about it. She says, 'I would love to do that.' She is one of the greatest singers of our time; she would be great. So much for those rumors. Following the near-confirmation that Jennifer Lopez would join the American Idol judging table next season, a new report says this will not be the case after all. Speaking to People, the insider blamed J. Lo's dive-like behavior for the dissolution of a deal, saying: “Her demands got out of hand. Fox just had enough.” It's true that Lopez is the only person to have the number-one album and number-one movie in the same week. It's also true that was nine years ago and she's spent more of the remaining time searching for relevancy.

Just when we thought the judge shortage at “American Idol” was all sewn up, with rock front man Steven Tyler and former pop-star Jennifer Lopez taking over for ousted judges Kara DioGuardi and Ellen Degeneres, it looks like it might not be a done deal after all. While Tyler is blabbing all over the media about his new gig - er, telling everyone except his band mates, that is - Lopez has been very tight-lipped about the whole thing.

Nigel Lythgoe may be back as the producer of American Idol, and he may openly desire Paula Abdul as a judge on the show, but this isn't going to happen. The singer is under contract with CBS for a new show titled Got to Dance. But Abdul did speak to TV Guide this week about her former home and answered questions about its judging predicament. Excerpts follow... On Lythgoe: I have the utmost respect for Nigel. Him going back to American Idol  is in many ways a very big blessing. He's a wonderful producer and I'm taken by the kind words he had to say. I have tremendous respect for him.

This past Tuesday I posted a story about an upcoming auction which will offer the purple and orange suit that Jack Nicholson wore in the 1989 Tim Burton film Batman … and it reminded me how much I loved that movie when it came out in the Summer of ’89. I was 15 years old and I was finally going to see my favorite superhero on the big screen … I was pretty much obsessed with the film and everything related to the film all Summer long.
