I keep reading about Woody Allen directing a new film in Paris called Midnight in Paris, but the cast seems rather nonsensical to me. There’s Owen Wilson - who I believe is the “Woody” character, plus actors like Marion Cotillard, Adrien Brody, Rachel McAdams, Michael Sheen…and Kathy Bates? Anyway, somehow Woody talked Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, otherwise known as The First Lady of France, into taking a smaller supporting part in the film. I believe this is the first time a French First Lady worked on a film while her husband was in office. Expectations were high.

The two were acting, and while I could see Kate hooking up with her hot also-single co-star I think the verdict is still out on that one. The last maybe-legitimate report we heard about Kate Hudson’s dating life had her hooking up with hotelier Jeff Soffer, 42, who used to date Elle McPherson.

Star Magazine’s cover story is yet another sordid “tell-all” piece about Angelina Jolie, this time loosely based on what Star thinks is going to be in Andrew Morton’s soon-to-be-released biography of Jolie. My favorite part is the “voodoo” reference on the cover. That must be it, right? Angelina Jolie does voodoo. That’s why she exists.
